閉眼關公雕塑的來歷

民間有這樣一句話，“觀音閉眼不救世，關羽睜眼必殺人”。按照民間的傳統(tǒng)說法，主要是因為關公睜眼必見血，是為不吉。故而，無論是修鑄關公銅像，還是紋身都不能關公都不能開眼。這又是什么原因呢？

還有一種說法似乎更靠譜一些，來源于《夢華瑣簿》中所述：清代徽調演員米喜子在演《戰(zhàn)長沙》時，出場用袖子遮臉，眼神微瞇。演至精彩處，驀地睜大雙眼，一副殺氣凜然的樣子。當時臺下觀眾為之喝彩，都說真像是關公顯靈了。所以說，閉眼可以說是一種蓄勢待發(fā)的神情，在戲臺上，也有“一身之戲聚于臉，一臉之戲聚于眼” 一說。
